The following changes in procedure ensure that your massage therapy session will take place in the healthiest possible environment.
Arrival
- Only clients are allowed into the building.
- Kindly arrive five minutes early for your appointment. Text me from your car when you arrive, and I will text you to come in.
- Bring in only your car keys, payment envelope, and cellphone. I request you leave pocketbooks, backpacks, etc. locked in your car.
- Upon entering, I will provide you with a new mask. Please keep it on throughout your session. I also will use a five-second, non-contact thermometer to verify your temperature is below the CDC fever standard of 100.4°F. If you have a fever, we will reschedule the appointment.
- Please hang up your jacket on the coat stand in the entrance hall and place your shoes below it. Use the umbrella stand if needed.
- Please use the bathroom and thoroughly wash your hands. Come directly into the studio upon leaving the bathroom.
- In the studio I have provided a sanitized receptable for you to place your clothes/belongings.
Massage session
- Clients find breathing through a mask is comfortable while lying face down on the table. However, if you are uncomfortable, let me know and I will attach a mask underneath the face cradle. You need to be comfortable as well as safe.
- While I wear a disposable mask, face shield, and gloves throughout, they do not affect treatment.
- At the end of the session, I will, as usual, leave the room and return when you are dressed to discuss how you feel and suggest wellness information. We will maintain social distance.
My preparations for your session
- I adhere to the CDC safety precautions for COVID-19: thorough and frequent hand washing, wearing a mask in public, and social distancing. I take my temperature several times a day and will cancel an appointment if I have any symptoms whatsoever.
- All surfaces you or I might touch during your session—in the entrance hall, bathroom, and massage studio (including all doorknobs, bolster, and the massage table)—have been thoroughly cleaned and treated beforehand with a medical grade disinfectant (CaviCide).
- The studio’s sliding door has been opened before you arrive to ensure air exchange.
- A HEPA air purifier runs continuously in the studio.
- The HVAC ventilation has been outfitted with an ultraviolet unit to sterilize contaminants.
- The room is vacuumed with a high-grade HEPA filter.
- Hand sanitizers are readily available along with covered receptacles for used tissues.
- Following each session, the sheets and my clothes are laundered. I dress in fresh clothes and don new gloves, new mask, and new face shield before entering the space for the next appointment.
- A minimum of 90 minutes separates appointments to clean and disinfect the entranceway, bathroom, and studio.
